About Cassandra

WHC is run by Cassandra Lorusso-Smith, a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC). She has worked extensively with clients in the areas of Trauma/PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, healthy living, sports psychology, and Borderline Personality Disorder. Cassandra enjoys working with clients of all ages.

My Background

Cassandra’s background is in dialectical behavioral therapy, prolonged exposure therapy, and experiential therapy. Her passion is helping clients to identify and use their strengths to improve their life. Coping skills training and finding one's meaning are important aspects to Cassandra's counseling strategy.

Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor

Cassandra is a PATH intl. certified therapeutic riding instructor and Equine Specialist in Mental Health Counseling.

Years of Experience

Cassandra has been riding and working with horses for 20+ years. She has a passion for helping horses that others would deem “challenging.” She enjoys using positive reinforcement training, liberty work, and natural horsemanship to bring out the best in all horses. Cassandra believes that improving relationships between clients and their (or the program’s) horses can be life changing.

Athletic Background

Brown Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (multiple NAGA champion, Gold at Boston IBJJF 2x, won multiple super fights) Amateur Muay Thai fighter (2-0), competitive equestrian (multiple championships in the High A/O jumpers and 1.40m classes, grand prix placings)
